Nationally ranked #3 Louisville Cardinals went to #13 Rutgers, the Scarlet Knights. Yes the Rutgers defense stepped it up in the second half and completely shut down the vaunted Louisville offense. Yes Rice brought his game when it was needed to pick up key yards late in the game. Yes the 12th man was a ginormous factor. But who actually gave the lead to the Scarlet Knights? Who put the 3 winning points on the board with 13 seconds left to play? Ito, that’s who!
Huzzah for kickers named Ito. We won’t consider the fact that he missed the kick seconds before only be be given a second chance due to an offsides penalty; nor that his open field tackling was absolutely horrific during Louisville’s kickoff return. We will simply focus on the fact that his foot was what put the winning three points on the board - go Ito!
